Władysław Tatarkiewicz was one of the most significant Polish historian of philosophy and historian of art and aesthetics. In reality, he was not only a historian but also a scholar of broad interest in area of systematic philosophy (aesthetics, general axiology, ethics and methodology of humanities). In this paper, I discuss his important methodological and metaphilosophical ideas. The article presents not only Tatarkiewicz’s metaphilosophical/methodological opinions but also tries to reconstruct specificity of his philosophical position.
