Abstract

This chapter is a creative nonfictional account of being detained and subsequently deported at Heathrow Airport in May of 2013. The piece explores the stringent and contradictory practices of the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA). The overzealous and harassing nature of the UKBA has been detailed in several comparative articles, and there are instances where people who should not have been were detained. Overall, the piece works to show a first-hand account of the UKBA detention, its centres, and its practices.
