Abstract

The special Eurobarometer Democracy and elections was released in December 2018 in order to measure the EU Member States citizens’ views about the main aspescts of the electoral process. It shows that there are still unsolved issues like the absence of rules on online campaign before the electoral campaign, the lack of information about the EU, the risk of cyberattacks affecting the electronic vote, etc. It shows also that the limited trust in democracy at the European level have been overcome, but new obstacles emerged affecting the relationshiop between voters and EU institutions
