Abstract
Jan van der Til works in the medium of the artist’s book – not only in its physical form but also in digital formats. He has created both printed and digital artists’ books, which exist both as real objects and in electronic form. The latter are the main object of this analysis. To clearly represent their mode of appearance, they will be referred to in the following discussion as ‘hybrid’ artists’ books. The nature of hybrids will be explored with reference to Jan van der Til’s publication Book iii.
