This chapter focuses on religious pluralism and religious freedom in the Greek educational system. It discusses the situation with regard to the place of religion in Greek schools; presents the developments regarding the secularization process of the Greek educational system; and examines the relation between a prevailing religion, religious pluralism, religious freedom, and secularization. The main argument is that the Greek educational system tolerates religious diversity, without trying to incorporate it and that the road to the full implementation and respect of religious freedom and pluralism remains long, while the secularization of the Greek school continues to be pending.
