Abstract
This chapter focuses on the documentary and artistic value of landscape and environment and their representation in contemporary photography. It looks at the impact it has on the social conception of territory and of sustainable practices given its great potential to create empathy and to promote responsibility in human-environment interactions. Attention is paid to the project BxLLt as a reflection of the territory of El Baix Llobregat (Spain) and of how the experience of the sense of place in a specific territory acts as an intensifier of affection that facilitates the raising of awareness about local landscape. El Baix Llobregat has a peri-urban, agro-rural, agro-industrial and industrial character that extends from Martorell—headquarters of the automobile Spanish manufacturer SEAT—up to the Prat beaches adjacent to the international airport and port area of Barcelona.
