Abstract

Rigorous research on writing interventions are necessary to inform theory and practice. In this chapter, we focus on important areas of research design including planning, intervention dosage, measures, implementation, and analysis. In each area, we use the We Write self-regulated strategies development approach to writing as an example to describe the theoretical foundations and practical applications to heighten awareness and guide researchers’ future efforts to design and implement rigorous research on writing interventions.
