Abstract

In times of the infodemic, it has already been recognized that the ability to critically reflect on information is an import skill. However, the influence of individual and media characteristics has not yet been sufficiently addressed which is why this study elaborates on the influence of individual cognitive predispositions, such as Need for Cognition (NFC), Need for Cognitive Closure (NFCC) and Information Overload (IO) on argumentation structure, correctness of source assessment, cue category and credibility evaluation in order to derive implications for education studies.
