From their very formation, the fields of (neo)medievalism (studies) and (neo-)Victorianism (studies) have been intertwined, often to the benefit of one or both. However, I believe much more is possible, for many scholars have yet to acknowledge this intersection, even when doing so might greatly advance their work. Drawing from my 18 years editing the premier journal in (neo)medievalism (studies) and 14 years as one of two co-editors for that field’s premier book series, I therefore map patterns of past collaboration between the two disciplines, highlight particularly beneficial areas of overlap in their content and/or theory, and propose new avenues for fruitful co-operation by two of the fastest growing and most dynamic fields in academia.
