Abstract
In an examination of a university-school partnership, this chapter contextualizes the experiences of contemporary community school coordinators within the origins of community schooling. Findings from this examination emphasize the tenets and foundations essential to effective and critical partnering. A discussion ensues focused on the necessity of honest conversations regarding the relationships between schools and their communities.
