Abstract

This chapter marks the beginning of a more overt transition from ontology to agathology with a treatment of the human soul’s relation to the entire multiple hierarchy of good things. The chapter also considers Ficino’s handling of the Plotinian sub-contrary relation between Good and Evil and his tendency towards an Augustinian rather than Plotinian account of the soul’s moral choice.
