Abstract

An account of Ficino’s interpretation of the Plotinian theory regarding the soul’s ascent to the Good. The chapter is divided into three sections dealing with the presence of the Good, the futurity of the Good, and ascent through exercise of the will. Under the influence of Dionysius the Areopagite, the departure from Plotinus’ position is here visible perhaps to the greatest extent.
