This study aims to explore the trends in the literature on adult informal learning in online settings using an integrative review method. Through analyzing 45 papers, our findings indicate that the authors of the reviewed papers primarily discussed adult learners’ professional development, social media as a learning space, and self-directed learning in adult informal learning in online situations. Using a scoping review method, we mapped out the theoretical frameworks and empirical findings. Theoretical frameworks related to learning, motivation, technology, and community were categorized, and empirical findings were reported based on informal learning activities, perceptions, and factors impacting adult learners’ informal learning in online settings.
