In the discipline of Egyptology, religious studies range between the determination of terms specific to ancient Egyptian religion and the expectation to communicate religious features on an interdisciplinary level. Developments in transdisciplinary approaches and cultural studies employed in religious studies exponentiate the Egyptological starting point. A reflection of terminological, perspective and systemic approaches to ancient Egyptian religion, of basic and critical terms of religious studies as well as general modern parameters to describe ancient Egyptian phenomena help to recognize potential problems and demonstrate possible solutions.
