Frieder Schlaich first met Christoph Schlingensief in 1990, when Schlingensief showed his film The German Chain Saw Massacre at the Xenon film theatre in Berlin. Schlaich had just founded Filmgalerie 451, an arthouse video store, and offered to distribute Schlingensief’s films for him. Later, they collaborated in the production of Freakstars 3000 and thereafter remained in close contact. Schlaich provides insights into how his team is currently building a digital archive of Schlingensief`s work for an international audience.
