Abstract

Online collaborative writing may be a powerful tool for promoting deep and meaningful learning in university courses. However, it is also a highly demanding task for students, since it requires them to master a diverse range of complex abilities. This chapter presents and discuss the results of two teaching interventions addressed to assist online collaborative writing tasks in different undergraduate courses related to Educational Psychology. The interventions tried to improve both students’ meaningful learning of the content subject and student’s skills of individual and collaborative writing. For so doing, the interventions combined in diverse manners the use of different kinds of supports and scaffolds (scripts, feedback and rubrics) all along the process of collaborative writing.
