This paper presents two new seals from recent excavations at Tell Atchana, ancient Alalakh, adding to the already extensive seal corpus of Alalakh. These seals depict a creature possessing single head and with long serrated jaws. This motif has some parallels in two seals recovered by Woolley from Tell Atchana, which in turn have connections farther afield. They probably date to the 19th through 18th-centuries bc, and may be of local manufacture. One of the new seals had later been recut, partly effacing the monster motif that is the main focus of this paper on “Alalakh Monsters!”
