Abstract

In this text I intend to show Socrates’ dialectics in the Charmides through a rhetorical aspect, namely the conduction of the interlocutor’s emotions. It is my intention to show the Socratic-Platonic operation here in display, his ‘charm’, as a kind of psychagogy which goes along with the philosophical investigation, in which the difference between Sophistics and Philosophy can be shown through Socrates’ conduction of pathos, in his dialogue with Critias, from eristic dispute to philosophical love.
