Abstract
This article discusses the complex grammatical and typological properties of two regions in Galilee from a comparative areal perspective. The varieties investigated are the speech of (1) a dozen villages in the Jezreel Plain (Marǧ Ibn ʕĀmir) and (2) four Arab villages in the Hula Valley (Sahl al-Ḥūla) that no longer exist. Due to their juxtaposition between the Central Palestinian, Galilean, Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian, and bedouin-type Shawi dialects, the Arabic varieties of the two regions can be regarded as transitional dialects. They show some typical bedouin traits, but also have some striking features in common with the sedentary dialects of neighboring regions: specifically, the dialect of the Hula Valley shares some characteristics with both the Syrian Ḥawrāni dialects and the sedentary dialects of southern Lebanon, while the dialect of Marǧ ibn ʕĀmir exhibits similarities with the dialects of northern and central Jordan as well as with the sedentary dialects spoken in the so-called Muṯallaṯ area to the south. Both regions are, of course, also linguistically linked to the other dialects of Galilee. In addition to providing notes on phonology, morphology, and syntax, the article briefly discusses the historical background and the degree of the bedouin influence, which is likely less significant than originally maintained. The final section presents four transcribed texts along with an English translation and linguistic commentary.

מאמר זה דן בתכונות הדקדוקיות והטיפולוגיות המורכבות של שני אזורים בגליל מנקודת מבט השוואתית אזורית. הדיאלקטים הנחקרים הם של תריסר כפרים בעמק יזרעאל (מַרג׳ אִבן עאמִר) ושל ארבעה כפרים בעמק החולה (סַהל אל-חולה), אשר כבר לא קיימים. בגלל הימצאותם בין דיאלקטים פלסטינים מרכזיים, גליליים, לבנונים, סורים, ירדנים ובדואים מסוג שאווי, הדיאלקטים הערבים של שני אזורים אלה יכולים להיחשב כדיאלקטי מעבר. הם מראים מאפיינים בדואים אך להם גם מאפיינים בולטים משותפים עם דיאלקטים מיושבים של אזורים סמוכים: לדיאלקט של עמק החולה מאפיינים המשותפים עם דיאלקטים חווראנים סורים ועם הדיאלקטים המיושבים של דרום לבנון. הדיאלקט של עמק יזרעאל מראה דמיון לדיאלקטים של צפון ומרכז ירדן וגם לדיאלקטים המיושבים המדוברים באזור המשולש דרומה מהם. שני האזורים מקושרים לשונית גם לדיאלקטים אחרים של הגליל. בנוסף לדיון בפונולוגיה, במורפולוגיה ובתחביר, מאמר זה ידון בקצרה גם ברקע ההיסטורי ובמידת ההשפעה הבדואית על שני הדיאלקטים. החלק האחרון של המאמר יציג ארבעה טקסטים מתועתקים ביחד עם תרגומם לאנגלית ופרשנות בלשנית.

تتناول هذه المقالة الخصائص النّحويّة والنّمطيّة المعقّدة لمنطقتين في الجليل من منظور مساحيّ مقارن. الأصناف الّتي تمّ فحصها هي (1) كلام حول خمس عشرة قرية في سهل يزرعيل (مرج بن عامر) و(2) كلام أربع قرى عربيّة في وادي الحولة (سهل الحولة) بحيث لم تعد هذه القرى موجودة. نظرًا لتواجد لهجات هتين المنطقتين ما بين اللّهجات المركزيّة الفلسطينيّة والجليليّة واللّبنانيّة والسّوريّة والأردنّيّة والبدويّة من نوع شاوي، يمكن اعتبار أنواع اللّهجات العربيّة المنطوقة في المنطقتين لهجات انتقاليّة. تظهر بعض السّمات البدويّة النّموذجيّة، ولكن لها أيضًا بعض سمات لافتة للنّظر مشتركة مع اللّهجات الحضريّة في المناطق المجاورة: على وجه التّحديد، تشترك لهجة وادي الحولة في بعض الخصائص مع كلّ من اللّهجات الحورانيّة السّوريّة واللّهجات الحضريّة في جنوب لبنان، بينما تُظهر لهجة مرج بن عامر أوجه تشابه مع لهجات شمال ووسط الأردنّ وكذلك مع اللّهجات الحضريّة المحكيّة فيما يسمّى منطقة المثلّث إلى الجنوب. وبالطّبع أنّ كلتا المنطقتين، مرتبطتان لغويّا أيضًا بلهجات الجليل الأخرى. بالإضافة إلى تقديم ملاحظات حول علم الأصوات والصّرف وبناء الجملة، تناقش المقالة بإيجاز الخلفيّة التّاريخيّة ودرجة التّأثير البدويّ، الّتي من المحتمل أن تكون أقلّ أهمّيّة ممّا ظننّا سابقا. يقدّم الفصل الأخير أربعة نصوص مكتوبة مع ترجمة إنجليزيّة وتعليق لغويّ.
