Abstract

In this paper the biometric relationships between the different body parts of decapods are described, allowing the reconstruction of size and biomass (weight) of each sample from its hard parts (chelae and cephalothorax). The usefulness of this study lies in the interpretation of the feeding habits of demersal fish which feed on decapod crustaceans, since the slow digestion of hard skeletons of Decapods gives rise to the appearance of numerous hard parts in fish stomach contents.
