Abstract

A new species of pinnotherid crab, Indopinnixa latimerus n. sp. is described on the basis of a female specimen from the island of Flores in Indonesia. This new species resembles I. oryza Naruse & Maenosono, 2012 in having a subovate carapace, without any protuberance on the lateral margin, and a distally expanded merus of the fourth ambulatory leg, but differs in the shape of the frontal margin, and the density of the setation of the carapace and chelipeds. A key to the nine known species of Indopinnixa is provided.

Résumé

Une nouvelle espèce du crabe Pinnotheridae, Indopinnixa latimerus n. sp. est décrite à partir d’un spécimen femelle de l’île de Flores en Indonésie. Cette nouvelle espèce ressemble à I. oryza Naruse & Maenosono, 2012 en ayant une carapace subovale, sans protubérance au bord latéral, et un mérus distalement dilaté de la quatrième patte ambulatoire, mais elle en diffère par la forme du bord frontal, et par la densité de la sétation de la carapace et des chélipèdes. Une clé des neuf espèces connues de Indopinnixa est fournie.
