10. Jan Dobraczynski's novel, Wyczerpac morze (To Drain the Sea) (1961) is perhaps the only exception. It presents a fantastic vision of the destruction of Europe as a result of nuclear explosion. This fact (presented quite naively) is only a starting point for the consideration of the future of the Catholic Church, of the traditional system of values of modem Catholicism, and of a whole set of questions concerning clerical institutions.
