Abstract

The taxonomic status of the two often confused species, Aderus pentatomus (Thoms.) and A. breyicornis (Perris) is examined and the species are redescribed on a rather rich material. The most reliable structures are found in the head and its appendages, in the abdominal sternites, the hind egs, and the male genitalia. Information is given on geographical distribution as well as on life history.
