Abstract

Couturiera kensmithi n.gen., n.sp. and C. lewisi n.sp. are described from Sénégal. Couturiera n.gen. is clearly related to Alamira Schmitz and serves to reinforce the significance of the Alamirinae as the group that links the Termitoxeniinae to the rest of the Phoridae. No Couturiera males so far are known. A key to the known Alamirinae is given.
