Abstract

A generic diagnosis is given for the male imago of Oschia n. gen. The genus differs from all other members of the Harnischia complex in having well developed superior volsella and reduced antepronotum with the scutum protruding hunch-like forward. It probably is related to the genera Cyphomella Saeth. and Paracladopelma Harn. The generic diagnosis of Saetheria Jackson is emended for the larva and a generic diagnosis for the female given. The type spcies of Oschia, O. dorsenna n. sp. is described from the male imago. Saetheria hirta n. sp. is described from the female imago, pupa and larva and compared with Saetheria tylus (Townes).
