Abstract

Material of a small thyreophorine fly collected on the carcass of a horse in Kashmir is referred to Centrophlebomyia Hendel and found probably identical with Thyreophora anthropophaga Robineau-Desvoidy, a species with has remained unrecognized since its description in 1830. It is redescribed and compared with C. furcata (Fabricius).
