A new genus of chironomid midge, Oukuriella, is described from material from Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay. The genus is characterized by the lack of an anal point, bifid superior volsella, widely separated antepronotal lobes, and distinctive tibial spurs. Oukuriella is placed in the tribe Chironomini. Three species are described as new: Oukuriella albistyla, Oukuriella simulatrix and Oukuriella fasciata. The type species for the genus is Oukuriella albistyla. A key to the known species of Oukuriella is provided.
