Abstract

Clydesmithia canadensis, a new genus and species of aphid living on Populus trichocarpa and P. balsamifera in Canada is described. The fundatrigeniae are apterous and contain embryos of the exul type. No alate specimens are known and the species is probably monophagous on Populus. Fundatrix, apterous viviparous female and first instar larvae of the second and third generations are described.
