Abstract

Two known species of the blattid genus Macrocerca Hanitsch are redescribed, and 7 new species from New Guinea are described. A key is provided to distinguish the adults. The genus, previously in the Blattellidae, is placed in the Blattidae: Macrocercinae (subfam. n.), between the Blattinae and Polyzosteriinae.
