Lectotypes and paralectotypes are designated for species of flatid planthoppers described by Jacobi, Haglund, Melichar, and Stal. The genitalia of lectotype males are illustrated. New status: Cerynia incurva Melichar, not a variety of Flata albata StÅl; Ormenis indigena Melichar, not a synonym of Ormenis fuscomarginata Melichar (Melicharia); Flatoides insularis (Melichar), not a variety of Flata tortrix Guérin-Méneville.
