Abstract

The larvae of tribes of the broad-nosed weevil subfamily Entiminae (Pachyrhynchini, Ectemnorhinini, Alophini, Sitonini, and Entimini) are keyed and diagnosed on the basis of phylogenetically important characters. The Entimini are grouped in three informal but possibly natural subsets (A, B, and C). Correspondence between these larval groups and traditional adult arrangements is discussed on the basis of a cladistic analysis. Illustrations of larval diagnostic features in Entimini and a cladogram are provided.
