Abstract

The adult males of Orthocladius (Pogonocladius) consobrinus (Holmgren) and O. glabripennis Goetghebuer are described in detail and the hypopygia are figured. Although the two species are superficially very similar the male hypopygia are distinctly different which establishes that O. glabripennis is a valid species, probably belonging to Orthocladius (sensu stricto).
