The Palearctic species in the notescens-group of the genus Micropsectra Kieffer are revised. Six species are redescribed and three new species, Micropsectra lindebergi, M. montana and M. nepalensis are described. Lectotypes are designated for 19 species and a neotype is designated for M. insignilobus Kieffer. The females and pupae are included as far as they are known. - Morphologically some of the species are very similar. In one case the only morphological difference between two species is found in the females. An analysis, presented in graphs and tables, is given to make it possible to separate the males of M. insignilobus and M. lindebergi, two morphologically very similar species. Most of the species which are difficult to separate on morphological grounds have a marked difference in their ecology, thus making an identification possible. - Notes on the distribution and ecology of the species are given. - Keys to the males and pupae of the species in the notescens-group are presented.
