The following survey aims to give a short comparison of national approaches to recent challenges in the waste management sector. The questions refer to major implementation requirements of EU waste law and supplementary national strategies, preferences, standards and definitions. They are answered by experts from seven representative countries: Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. The detailed country reports featured above by Antonios Sifakis, Marios Haidarlis (Greece), Eva Valentová (Czech Republic) and Lotte Eskesen (Denmark) provide information on most of these questions as well. This survey is the first of a new JEEPL comparative section.
