The Czech Republic has been a party to most of the important multilateral international nature conservation and biodiversity protection agreements. In 1992 there was adopted the Act No. 114/1992 Coll., on nature conservation and landscape protection. This Act is the basic Act in the area of nature and biodiversity protection and management in the Czech Republic. The Act and the providing legislation are only partially compatible with the EC secondary law, namely Habitats and Birds Directives. But the most problematic issue is an enforcement of nature protection law in practice.
