Egypt is being watched closely from far beyond its borders, in both the Arab world and elsewhere, such as Europe. Th is country is at the heart of the Arab world, and its geo-strategic importance should not be underestimated. If Egypt is successful in transitioning to a stable postrevolutionary phase, there will be lessons for the entire region. If it fails, it will not only be Egyptians who feel the pain.
