For a democratic state to function properly, a clear separation of powers – legislative, executive, and judicial – is essential. Today, however, a fourth power, the media, also plays a crucial role. This paper examines the separation of powers in Kosovo, aiming to elucidate the distinct roles and significance of these powers, particularly in relation to foreign policy. Official documents, ngo research, and relevant literature have been utilized. The methodology includes descriptive, analytical and comparative approaches to assess Kosovo’s power dynamics. The anticipated results will underscore the importance of power separation, the specific competencies of each branch, and their impact on foreign policy. The paper will conclude by emphasizing the role of each power, including the media, in Kosovo’s context.
