Application of agricultural technologies has been supportive for fulfilling the requirements of food and raw material of an individual and an industry as well. But it has also injured the farming community in India without providing adequate treatment for physical and economic health. What are the measures available for the safety and social security of farming communities by which risk can be ameliorated? This paper examines such predicaments by locating the response of the scientific community engaged in the research and development of agricultural technologies. The discussion is based upon the transcript obtained after in-depth interviews of the scientific community. An effort has been made to interpret the empirical reality of occupational health hazards in farming relating to emerging social security measures.
