The Philippine Political Science Journal (PPSJ) is an internationally refereed journal and the official publication of the Philippine Political Science Association (PPSA). The PPSJ welcomes articles dealing with the politics and international relations of Southeast Asia. Manuscripts may focus on individual countries of the region but comparative articles about the countries in the region and the region as a whole are especially welcome.
All articles published in Philippine Political Science Journal undergo a double-blind peer review process. This includes articles published in special issues.

Maria Ela L. Atienza is professor and former chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman. She is also the editor of the Philippine Political Science Journal, the Scopus journal of the Philippine Political Science Association, and co-convenor of the Program on Social and Political Change in the UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies. She also served as director of the UP Third World Studies Center (2010-2013) and president of the Philippine Political Science Association (2007-2009). Her research interests and publications cover local politics, governance and devolution; human security; health politics and policy; and Philippine charter change issues.
