* Recommendation (57) Conference/36: "With regard to companies with which it is intended to deal for the first time or companies subject to investigation by the Boycott authorities before the stage of warning has been reached, there is nothing to prevent their participat- ing in tenders in Arab countries. In order, however, to safeguard the interests of the Arab contracting party, the conditions of the tender must include a pro- vision to the effect that the company has no dealings which infringe the estab- lished provisions of the Boycott. The same provision shall also be included in the contract itself when the tender is awarded to the party that submitted it." Recommendation (10) Conference/38: "The Conference decides to recommend that Regional Offices in which the companies under investigation have representatives shall maintain contacts with them in order to determine their status as quickly as possible."
* This is the model law universally ratified by and enforceable in all Member States of the Arab League (except Egypt since the conclusion of the Camp David Accords). This Law, transcribed almost verbatim from the above text, now forms part of the domestic legislation of all Arab countries.
