L’auteur fait ici partager plus de 30 ans d’expérience de l’étude du XVIIIe siècle dans les murs d’un institut académique russe. L’évolution de ses propres intérêts et des tendances historiographiques générales, la transformation du milieu académique, les changements dans l’organisation et le financement de la recherche russe sont placés dans le contexte plus large des métamorphoses dramatiques survenues dans son pays depuis la fin de l’ère soviétique jusqu’à nos jours.
Abstract
The author shares here more than 30 years of experience in the study of the 18th Century within the walls of a Russian academic institute. The evolution of his own interests and general historiographical trends, the transformation of the academic environment, changes in the organization and funding of Russian research are placed in the broader context of the dramatic metamorphoses that have taken place in his country from the end of the Soviet era to the present day.

Der Autor teilt hier mehr als 30 Jahre Erfahrung im Studium des 18. Jahrhunderts innerhalb der Mauern eines russischen akademischen Instituts. Die Entwicklung seiner eigenen Interessen und allgemeiner historiographischer Trends, die Veränderung des akademischen Umfelds, die Veränderungen in der Organisation und Finanzierung der russischen Forschung werden in den breiteren Kontext der dramatischen Umwälzungen gestellt, die sich in seinem Land seit dem Ende der Sowjetzeit bis heute vollzogen haben.
