The presence of aging bodies on the choreographic scene nowadays is a challenge to the destructiveness of time, a vital impulse using the stubborn resistance of words and bodies to the “all gone” Beckett writes about in Worstward Ho. The reflection on the embodiment of passing time, and what it makes visible onstage, is linked to the more general issues of how to preserve the individual and collective memory of dance and how to represent our mortality.
