Recent Scholarship in the Field of kalām

Abstract
This article reviews recent scholarship on kalām-theology and attempts to briefly describe some tendencies that appear to be promising for opening new perspective for future work. Scholarship has made significant attempts to transcend previous limitations of the field along the confines of religious communities and scholarly disciplines (theology vs. philosophy) and has extended the geographical scope and timeframe of investigation.

Cet article est un aperçu des travaux récents dans le domaine du kalām (théologie rationnelle). Il vise spécifiquement à en résumer certaines tendances prometteuses et qui pourraient guider de futures recherches. Les travaux ici présentés constituent des tentatives importantes pour amplifier et diversifier le domaine de l’étude du kalām en dépassant les limites des communautés religieuses, des disciplines de recherche (théologie vs. philosophie) et en élargissant son champ d’études, géographiquement et chronologiquement.
