Abstract

Theory For Practice Or Practice For Theory? On A Controversial Relationship

The article analyzes the tension between theory and practice from three perspectives. First, it describes the mechanisms that lead to the devaluation of theory and the development of arbitrariness in pedagogical fields of action. The second perspective makes it clear that pedagogy, in its specific capacity as a practical science, is necessarily constituted by practice and theory at the same time and, thirdly, it becomes diachronically recognizable that university pedagogy is initially not recognized as an independent science and is later occupied, significantly shaped and changed in its orientation by representatives of neighbouring disciplines.
