Citius, Altius, Fortius – Imperatives of Statistics to Increase Achievements

According to the olympic slogan of citius, altius, fortius (faster, higher, stronger) imperatives are formulated to enhance sportive performances towards perfection which are also found in achievement statistics meant to increase accomplishments of learning subjects and pedagogical institutions. The paper unravels some of these imperatives and argues that they strongly changed the way of conceptualizing public schooling, education and Bildung and moreover turn a common activity into a lonesome process.
