How People Become Entrepreneurs – Optimization Calculi in Vocational Education and Training

The aim of the paper is to examine the program of entrepreneurship education and, related to it, the tension between becoming and being of the subject from a social and educational science perspective. Especially in the discourse about the optimization of the self, critical contributions often predominate. In the context of this paper, both perspectives, the (system) proponents and critics, will be kept in view. The focus is on the question how people are (made) entrepreneurs under the influence of optimization calculations in vocational education and training.
