The History of Pedagogy as Irritation

The past exerts a normative compulsion on the present that can never be completely resolved with arguments. Every systematic justification is subject to historical conditions, just as these conditions can only be recognized under systematic postulates. Action is the implementation of validity under historical conditions in the unity of principle and case.
