Obesity refers to a pathophysiologic condition that may be solved through technological and personalized solutions. Individual physiology though faces behavior and environment. As neither behavior nor environment can be adequately assessed, biomedical research alone cannot explain obesity. Obesity results from interactions of complex systems and therefore requires systemic research approaches. A Public Health approach however is not opposed to a biomedical approach.
