Die von Karlheinz Stierle und Rainer Warning gegründete Reihe „Romanistisches Kolloquium“ verbindet zentrale thematische und methodologische Perspektiven romanistischer Philologie und Literaturwissenschaft und sucht so die einzelnen romanistischen Disziplinen mit einer Vorstellung von übergreifender, stets revidierbarer Einheit der romanischen Sprachen und Literaturen zusammenzuführen. Die schon vorliegenden Bände etwa zur Pluralität der Renaissance, zur Lyrik der Avantgarde, zur Moralistik und zum Zeitalter der Aufklärung sind Beiträge zu einer neuen romanistischen Literaturwissenschaft, aber sie sind zugleich Grundlagen für die Lehre in den einzelnen romanistischen Disziplinen – und für ein Bewußtsein ihrer Kohärenz und Kontinuität.

The series "Romance Studies Colloquium", founded by Karlheinz Stierle and Rainer Warning, brings together central thematic and methodological perspectives of Romance philology and literary studies and thus seeks to unite the individual Romance disciplines with a notion of an overarching, constantly revisable unity of Romance languages and literatures. The volumes already available, for example, on the plurality of the Renaissance, on avant-garde poetry, on moralistic studies, and on the Age of Enlightenment, are contributions to a new approach to Romance literature, but they are at the same time foundations for teaching in the individual Romance disciplines - and for an awareness of their coherence and continuity.
