The annual is a venue of publication for sociological studies of Chinese societies and the Chinese all over the world. The main focus is on social transformations in Hong Kong, Taiwan, the mainland, Singapore and Chinese overseas.
Chan Kwok-bun is Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology, and Director of the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University. His current research interests are in migration, transnationalism, cosmopolitanism, and diasporas; ethnic identities and ethnicities; business networks and ethnic capitalism; medical sociology; and family and marriage. Cheung Tak-sing is Professor at the Department of Sociology of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His current research interests are Confucianism, modernity and Chinese social thought.
